Cardiac Magnetic Resonance—Detected Acute Myocardial Edema as Predictor of Favourable Prognosis: A Comprehensive Review

چکیده
Acute myocardial edema (AME) is increased water content in the myocardium and represents first transient pathophysiological response to an acute injury. In-vivo non-invasive evaluation feasible with cardiac magnetic resonance (CMR), which a powerful imaging technique capable of tissue characterization. In clinical setting, early demonstration AME has recognized diagnostic value for coronary syndromes myocarditis, although its prognostic not well established. This article provides comprehensive narrative review on meaning heart diseases. particular, available evidence possible favourable several scenarios addressed.

QT-Dispersion as a potential marker in prognosis of acute myocardial infarction
Introduction: QT dispersion in a 12 lead ECG represents the heterogeneity of ventricular repolarization. The prolongation of QT-interval dispersion increases the risk of coronary heart disease, ventricular arrhythmia, and sudden cardiac death in patients with myocardial infarction. We aimed to investigate the prognostic value of QT-dispersion in patients with acute myocardial infarction. Meth...
متن کاملErectile dysfunction as a predictor of two-year prognosis in acute myocardial infarction.
BACKGROUND Erectile dysfunction (ED) is a predictor or marker of coronary artery disease in patients at high risk of cardiovascular diseases. The aim of this study was to investigate the prevalence of ED in patients with acute myocardial infarction (AMI) and after 2 years of follow-up, and to determine the association between ED and the concentrations of the markers of inflammation, endothelial...
متن کاملClinical utility of cardiac magnetic resonance T2 mapping for acute myocardial edema
Background Edema is a generic tissue response to acute myocardial injury and, therefore; a potential marker of impending tissue damage. Currently in clinical use, T2 weighted imaging provides a qualitative technique in assessing myocardial edema. We hypothesize that quantitative T2 mapping in patients with suspected cases of myocarditis, myocardial infarction (AMI), and cardiac transplant rejec...
متن کاملCardiac magnetic resonance evaluation of edema after ST-elevation acute myocardial infarction.
INTRODUCTION AND OBJECTIVES The aims of the study were to characterize myocardial edema after ST-elevation acute myocardial infarction using cardiac magnetic resonance imaging and to investigate its impact on ventricular function and its subsequent evolution. METHODS In total, 134 patients admitted to hospital for a first ST-elevation myocardial infarction who had a patent infarct-related art...
متن کاملEdema as a very early marker for acute myocardial ischemia: a cardiovascular magnetic resonance study.
OBJECTIVES This study was designed to determine whether imaging myocardial edema would identify acute myocardial ischemia before irreversible injury takes place. BACKGROUND Early identification of acute myocardial ischemia is a diagnostic challenge. METHODS We studied 15 dogs with serial T(2)-weighted and cine imaging at baseline, during transient coronary occlusion of up to 35 min, and aft...
